For over 5 years, A Mays Inn Meats has been a locally owned
and operated business by Ray, Annie and Dot May, along with
the other 18 skilled staff members. “Together, we serve
up a storm to get our customers the best meat money can buy
at the lowest price guaranteed”
Ray and Dot May, Owners and managers of A Mays Inn Meats,
who were born and raised in Townsville, have worked the northern
and western regions of Australia for 45 years starting their
career in Perth. Since opening their first shop in Charters
Towers, some 25 years ago, their main focus has been on customer
demand for quality product. As well as Ray and Dot, both their
Daughter and Son have taken up butchering at early ages keeping
the skill and trade within the family.
After opening up the Ross Butchery here in Townsville, Dot
and Ray really made a name for them selves, building up a
reputation and gaining a large customer slat eager for the
many retail and bulk products on offer. “When customers
started lining up outside the shop to get in, we knew we needed
to go bigger”. After being proud owners of the Ross
Butchery for 9 years, the family and a number of experienced
staff opened the doors to A Mays Inn Meats in late 2004, only
a week before Christmas!
With a 15m long display case, prepacked fridges and freezers
stretching over 35m, a grocery section supplying a large range
of sauce, pasta and tin food, fresh veggies and eggs, pet
food and a great range of pet accessories, there really is
something for everyone!
